From that first moment, when you find out that you are expecting you start to read dozens of books about your pregnancy.  What size of fruit the baby is every week to the benefits of reading to your little one.  However, that moment when you get into that car for babies first car ride, and you see the hospital disappearing in the rearview window! It hits you! You have not prepared for how to take care of that little one!

Why We Teach And Don’t Preach

why we teach

When your toddler looks at you with that fire in their eyes and the devil eyed grin on their face, you can tell that they are just thinking “dare me…” Their toes just inches for the edge of the couch as they tower there waiting to leap until you lock eyes with them.

The terrible two’s, it’s not a myth! It’s a real thing! They are trying to learn about the world around them, seeing what the limits are and how far they can push them. It’s hard!

I find myself countless times a day saying “NO”.  No you can’t have more juice, no the dog is not to be ridden on, no you cannot color on the table… the list goes on.

If these old shoes could talk…

Some people just see a pair of mud stained shoes with frayed laces. They see thinning soles and the weathered fabric. Yes, these babies have done their time. Have earned their retirement for sure.

The Mom Jinx

The mom jinx is no wives tale people!! It’s real! We have all experienced it!

The minute we brag about how well the kids have been sleeping at night you will be enjoying countless all nighters. You toss those pull ups away and your toddler will have potty training regression. The minute you buy your child a new pair of shoes, they will grow a foot over night.

The Diaper Bag Battle

Laughterandkisses.com

We all struggled with that dang diaper bag. It’s a black hole of half full sippy cups, loose fruit snacks, baby socks, and books that are missing pages. It’s a bag you haul everywhere, and you just pray it has what you need, when you need it!

I try my best to clean out our diaper bag every Sunday night, however I swear our bag weighs at least ten pounds no matter what. Continue reading “The Diaper Bag Battle”

Red, White, And Paint

Red, White, And Blue Baby Paint

My son is always wanting to be just like his big sister! He always wants to be doing what she is doing, he wants to play with what she is playing with, and eat what she is eating.  She is his whole world!

When it comes to our daily afternoon art projects, it has proven difficult to find toddler/ baby friendly activities. The number one thing we like to do in our house is paint! Lots and lots of paint splatters, muddy brown paint water, and wet brushes. I don’t mind the mess however, when it comes to the baby it can be even more difficult. More Than A Dance Class

It’s so much more than just a dance class.

I never imagined I would become a “dance mom”.  The idea of it kind of made me gag, the tight hair sprayed buns, expensive glittery outfits, the hours of classes… no thank you.  I never thought I would be a part of the that world, nor did I want to.  However, I have found that my daughter’s dance class is so much more than just a class.
