In the world of Instant Pots- What Instant Gratification Is Teaching Our Kids

Update_ Where We Have Been and Where We Are Going

My toddler has no idea what a commercial is…  I know that seems crazy right? You see we don’t watch TV in our house. No, no trust me I am not one of ‘those’ moms that is against screen time. It’s just that we use Netflix or Amazon Prime. So, she has no idea what commercials are.

Making Mom Life Livable: My Favorite Things

Making Mom Life Livable_ My Favorite Things

There are countless ‘list’ out there on mom hacks, list of items you need for your new baby, and how to organize your house in two hours. However, is there a list with real things you need as a mom. Not a list of expensive beauty products or million-dollar coffee drinks, but real items that moms use to just get through the day?

This is a realistic list of items my family uses on a daily basis. Nothing is expensive, nothing is over the top. Just items I use, a real mom, to make my life easier. To make mom life livable!

The Best Advice My Pediatrician Ever Gave Me

today i was2

Today I was a patient… I sat in the toddler’s doctor’s office nestled between the toy kitchen and the toy bin.  Getting my vitals checked and recheck, as my back slowly ached from the hard wood floor I rested on.

Update: Where We Have Been and Where We Are Going

Update_ Where We Have Been and Where We Are Going

Welcome 2018… goodbye 2017. I am not sad to see 2017 ride off into the sunset. We had many  blessings in 2017. We took on yet  another move. I was blessed with so many more followers and readers here at Laughter and Kisses. We enjoyed another year watching our kids grow and become adventurous tiny humans.

To The Woman Who Gave Me A Voice

gave me a voice

I am thankful for my other family…

I am so thankful for my other family. No- not my loud, thoughtful, at times overly open biological family.  I am talking about my other family- my “Her View From Home family”.

As many of you know I am also a freelance writer for Her View From Home. Her View From Home is what I would call an online magazine featuring every topic women want to talk about. They feature stories on everything from pregnancy to the loss of a family member, silly things kids say to inspirational stories of faith.

The Weekend I Had My husband Kidnaped

The Weekend I Had My husband Kidnaped

It’s the most wonderful time of year. The stores are hopping, people are shopping, and everyone telling you to “be of good cheer” … Not! Nope, not really.

You see when the Thanksgiving meal is covered in saran wrap and shoved to the depths of the fridge, people hit the stores with madness in their eyes and credit cards blazing. Crazed on bargains and the social rush to have all gifts under the tree by December first, this season is not full of good cheer.

Frozen Car Pee- Shopping With Kids This Holiday Season

We have been in and out of the car a few dozen times today!

Which means, a few dozen times I have parked the car only to find the tiny little humans have disrobed in the back seat.

These Are The Moments We Will Miss

These Are The Moments We Will Miss title

These are the moments we will miss…

I stood in my kitchen today, the baby was having a hysterical screaming fit because he would rather have a cookie than the meal that sat on his favorite plate in front of him.  The toddler sitting at the kitchen table, repeatedly telling me that she did not like ketchup. A condiment that was not even sitting on the table, let alone her plate.
I smiled, I smiled in that moment of pure chaos and noise, because these are the moments I will miss someday.

Free Activities For Kids This Winter

freeactivi.

Like most moms, I am dreading those long Midwest winters. Long days stuck inside, trying to entertain crazy toddlers with cabin fever. Battling it out day after day over toys, Paw Patrol vs Daniel Tiger episodes, and countless requests for fruit snacks.  I am always in search of fun, free activities that get us out of the house!

Here are just a few activities I always make sure that are on our calendar! They are great ways to get the kids out of the house and share a special experience with them! Continue reading “Free Activities For Kids This Winter”

Thanking It Forward

Ohh Thanksgiving week… a week filled with overwhelmed moms just chugging coffee and praying that the darn bird thaws out in time. Endless to-do list, trips to the grocery store, and placing  a store bought pie in your pie pan you have yet to cook a real pie in. The endless begging the kids to keep the house presentable for just a few more days until you surrender it back to them to destroy. The stack of black Friday ads sits on the kitchen table, with countless sticky notes hanging from their pages.
