Welcome 2018… goodbye 2017. I am not sad to see 2017 ride off into the sunset. We had many  blessings in 2017. We took on yet  another move. I was blessed with so many more followers and readers here at Laughter and Kisses. We enjoyed another year watching our kids grow and become adventurous tiny humans.

However, the month of December was one for the books.

A dear, dear friend of mine shared some words of wisdom with me recently, and I have thought about them every day since. She said: “Do not ever apologize for something you can’t control. As moms we feel as if something goes wrong we have to apologize for it.  By apologizing your taking control and accepting that there was something wrong. Putting your family first is never wrong!”

This has been so true.  I am sad that I had to take a break from Laughter and Kisses, however I am not going to apologize for it.

Mid December I just had a moment, a moment where I had to sit down and make a list of my commitments. I just knew I had to cut something. I had been giving everything 10% of my attention and nothing was getting 100%. I had to cut something.

I had to step up and be the full-time caregiver to my kids since my husband was in the middle of the holiday busy season at work and was not home other then to shower and sleep. I had to be there for my family as we said goodbye to my grandmother who had been bravely fighting cancer for over the seven months. I had to focus on trying to make the holiday season as special as I could under the circumstances for my kids.

Now, I am not having a big pity party. I have said time and time again- Life is like dirty laundry. We all have dirty laundry in our lives. At times it just builds up more then others. Sometimes you’re on top of it and its just a few mismatched sox. At other times it’s a piled up to the point of not being able to walk into your laundry room. The month of December was just a time where I had a mountain of dirty laundry. So, I had to step back and just focus on doing one load, one situation, at a time.

BUT WE ARE BACK BABY!!

I am so excited for 2018! I am excited to be back with all of you wonderful readers! I am excited for upcoming things with Laughter and Kisses!!

I have so many exciting things in the works that will hopefully allow us to grow this community and give back a little sunshine to those tired moms out there.

I am not sorry for taking a break, I am not sorry for taking the time to focus on my family. I am not sorry for bumps in the road. However, I am sorry that I missed interacting with all of you. You are the reason I do this, and I am so happy to be back with all of you!
